    Couldn't decide where to pin this... But love it! :) Funny, but the more you read up on the subject, feeding the poor is actually on the Christian responsibility list in the Bible; in other words, it's our job. As is a lot of other things we're really not doing anymore. A once-a-year food drive doesn't cut it, people. Strive for better. :)

    I don't pretend to know all the things Jesus would say or wouldn't say, but it doesn't sound like Luke 9:13 (NIV). ...I guess it does create dependency in a way. They LIVE instead of starving to death. If they still can't get a job, or can't find food without help, ... yes. They're still alive... they still need help. If that's dependency, I think we should encourage it until they can help themselves. Maybe we should try to help them help themselves too.
