Another one for math friends...This teacher has a lot of great ideas for Algebra 1 and Algebra 2! Ex: Parabola Match - use this game to help students match equations, vertices, axis of symmetry, and graphs (did this during student teaching and it was fantastic!)
Cool Down Cubes - great for students who have difficulty with anger. Using a permanent marker, write a safe "cool down" strategy on each ice cube. For example: count to ten, walk away, talk to a friend, take three deep breaths, etc. I also left a few of the cubes blank so that the students could come up with their own strategies.
Touch light during small reading groups-- When the light is on, students cannot approach or interrupt. When the light is off they can ask questions (usually in transition times between groups). $1 at the dollar tree!
Outstanding tips on classroom management for middle and high school students!!! Love the ticket system (will be easy to modify from my 4th and 5th grade system), bathroom and LMA passes. Also, calling students Mr./Miss and last name.
