Navajo Tacos Recipe

Navajo Tacos. This recipe is different than the other recipes posted in that it uses delicious homemade chili beans rather than canned. You have to plan ahead to make this meal, and it takes a bit of work but it is well worth it! Its more of a special occasion meal and is very easily doubled for a larger crowd. My mom made these for us growing up-I think it is originally from Sunset Magazine.

Fry Bread

Fry Bread: 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1 t. baking powder, 1/8 t. salt, 1/3 c. hot water, oil for frying. Mix first 3 ingredients together, add hot water to form a soft dough. Cover and let sit 30 min. Divide in half and roll out on lightly floured surface to form a 6" circle. Heat oil to 375 and fry on each side 2-3 min. Drain on paper towels. Yield:2
