Cardboard Stories/Homeless in Orlando by Rethink Homelessness is probably one of the most powerful videos about #homelessness. Filmmakers asked people experiencing homelessness to write down a fact about themself on a piece of cardboard. The result is a strikingly honest video, which we featured on the Homeless Hub blog, in our #AsktheHub post titled "How Can You Change Views About Homeless People?"

Another pinner said quite well - Why do we call them "homeless" people? People don't refer to me as a "house" person and we don't call people "condo" or "apartment" people. We focus so much I'm the "homeless" part that we forget the "people" part. <3
Someday I hope to stay with homeless people for a few days and photograph their lives. I would like to use the images to raise awareness that even in our smaller town we have homelessness.
People who labeled other people by where other people live. Homeless people are labeled homeless because they do not have a home to live. On the other hand, why are people not labeled apartment people when they live in an apartment? Or people who live in a house are not called house people? It is unfair for people to discriminate other people simply by where they live.

People shouldn't have to go through the day with an empty stomach regardless if you have a home or if you dont. Homeless people suffer of hunger everyday and some people don't feel any pity for them. I agree that people shouldn't have to feel bad for other that have a chance of working and becoming a better person but decide not to.

This sounds humane: In 8 years, Utah has quietly reduced homelessness by 78%. In 2005, Utah figured out that annual cost of E.R. visits & jail for homeless people was about $16,670 per person, compared to $11,000 to provide each with an apartment & a social worker. So, the state began giving away apartments, with no strings attached. Each participant in Utah’s Housing First program also gets a caseworker to help them become self-sufficient, get medical help, if needed, and keep the apartment

Soulmate Countdown Hmm, I don't know if I would want this. But it's chock full of good story ideas and conversation starters.
The picture is from the movie Timer. All these stories are very similar to the plot of the movie. The timer only starts counting down when your soul mate gets a timer.
If a clock could count down to the moment you meet your soul mate, would you want to know? Tumblr post
Other ideas- someone grows up with their soul mate and their clock counted down to zero in their first days after being born or someone thinks they've met their soulmate when they really haven't. Awkward love triangle.
good writing prompt: I feel that if you'd never gonna meet your soul mate, you'd be born with a dead clock. It makes more sense to me.
QUESTION!!!-This was beautiful. Would you guys want one of these? I'd actually be really scared because what if my soulmate was expecting something else, ya know? Or I was too? Idk, it would kinda be nice because you know that IS the one. Theirs no guessing but and no mistakes but honestly, I would think you would need to make mistakes to really find your soul mate. I think that part of life. What do you guys think?

Writing Prompt: Born with a timer that tells you when you meet your soulmate..
((Open role play, be the boy)) I looked down at my clock: 3 minutes and 43 seconds till I met my soulmate and my heart was thumping so loud I couldn't hear myself think. I didn't want to meet my soul mate but at the same time I kind of did. 2 minutes 27 seconds. I looked around frantically at my small house. My feet started to guide themselves and I found myself walking out the door and to the end of my driveway. 40 seconds. There was no traffic and no one on the sidewalks. 10 seconds. Maybe I wasn't meant to have a soulmate. All of a sudden I feel hands grab me and as I look up my timer beeps. "I guess we're soulmates, which sucks because I was sent here to kill you."
