Ive never used fondant before but this looks easy enough to be my first fondant project. Most likely I will only have the very top layer as actual cake, the rest will be fondant covered styrofoam. (cause who could eat that much cake or carry it!) It will be Kaiden's personal cake everyone else will get cup cakes. That way I wont have to worry if he gets spit all over it while blowing out the candles. lol.
1. Divide your cake batter into 8 different bowls. Color each bowl of batter a different color. Our colors are: red, pink, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, and purple. Bake each layer in an 8″ or 9″ round pan. You will take turns using the pan over and over with different colors. Unless you have 8 round pans.
