On Friday, July 1, the Office of the Bursar will begin charging a credit card convenience fee when students pay their bursar bills with credit cards. “The credit card payment method has become prohibitively expensive because of the fees associated with credit card transaction processing,” Ashley McKay, director of student accounting services at IU Southeast, said.
In the 2016-17 academic year, IU Southeast and the other campuses in the IU system will begin a flat-rate tuition system for full-time students. The tuition system is designed to reduce student debt and enable more students to graduate in four years. “IU Southeast remains the most cost-effective, public four-year institution in the area, and we want to give our full-time students an even better reason to graduate with us," Chancellor Ray Wallace said in a press release.
