Upcycled Plastic Bottles & Bags: Unique & Beautiful Art

the bottoms of bottles and old glass serving dishes used to make windows.

  • Ron DeMattio

I saw a set of old glass dishes at a Salvation Arm store- I go in to find dishes for mosaics. These were clear glass and oddly shaped, like rounded triangles. But the bottoms intrigued me with a texture of little pyramids. I hesitated, thinking they'd just go in my pile of 'some day' pieces. I didn't get them, but after looking at this window, I think I could have used silcone glue to attach them to a bigger piece of glass. I do drive my wife crazy as I slow down to look at old windows marked 'free' by the side of the road. She usually says 'do something with all the pieces you already have"
