Sew You by Erica Sue: Green and Black Chevron Lady Skater

Rockin my new game day dress that I whipped up this morning. Cut off the sleeves and re-attached as cap sleeves, cut two shirts and sewed together with an A-line skirt, took in the sides for a more feminine fit, and done!

T shirt dress I made using Robert Kaufman Laguna Cotton Jersey Gradient Zig Zag Emerald. I sewed the skirt to the top half of a t shirt I didn't wear much anymore, and used the technique where you use well-fitting clothing as a pattern, trace, and sew on the lines! I got the idea for the contrast directional waistband from this other tutorial which I have pinned (and plan to make as well!) www.make-it-funky...

Bandana skirt dresses I made for my nieces using the skirt from this tutorial, and attaching it to a t shirt to make a dress instead of just adding a waistband. I also appliqued hearts instead of circles. Don't they look adorable!

Tote bags for end of year teacher gifts (2012) per this tutorial: www.skiptomylou.o...

Spring Ruffle Top with tutorial from made by rae on sew mama sew. I didn't have as much fabric as suggested, so pleats are 0.5" instead of 1". In the front they are 1" apart and in the back 1.5" apart. I wanted a more fitted look, so the smaller pleats worked out in my favor. I took in the sides much more than suggested by trying it on and pinning.

Copycat (literally) of LeSportsac small hobo bag. I sewed it up like a pouch - there are tons of free tutorials for those!

Panther's shirts. 1. I first tried printing with the cardstock method, which was great until I put it in water. 2. Then I found something that suggested Acrylic fabric medium, smeared. 3. Printed fabric underwater (during rinse) using 4. June Tailor colorfast fabric sheets from JoAnn. 5. Fabric is a little stiff, and you see holes from applique. They held up underwater per 3, but the packaging says no detergent, so I hope they wash ok! As long as they're better than 1, I think we're good!

Monster Truck applique shirts for the boys and their friends for Monster Jam with 'Elizabeth's Studio In Motion Monster Trucks Black'

Cross-body bags for the girls, similar to Simplicity 2164, but with an added zipper.

Halloween 2012: Harry Potter - mock cloak made of an old adult XL t-shirt in the style of this Snuggie on Etsy with thrifted white shirt, tie and patch from EBay. Cat In The Hat - sewed belly and bow on black shirt from Old Navy. Bow and hat from Amazon. Sam I Am - Google image searched for ideas. Appliquéd green eggs and ham, made skirt from XL t-shirt, elastic at waist. Dad's a muggle, no sewing required. Overall, a fun Halloween!

Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts for mom and dad for Halloween (little one was Cat in the Hat). Got image from Google, painted onto scrap of white t shirt using glass table with light underneath, cut, and appliquéd onto red shirts. Took an hour total for both (excluding paint dry time).

Florida Gators swimming in water appliqué for brothers for their birthday. I do most of my appliqué by printing shapes off Google images and tracing onto fabric. These were no exception.

Finally finished my first dress from a pattern. New Look 6069. A great shape. Had to alter the back bodice quite a bit, but I'm happy with this first effort.

Jazzed up a favorite hoodie I like to wear around the house with appliqué of some cassettes from a fabric I love.

T shirt dress made with some vintage fabric from my Grandma. I want to make a matching sash, but the blue belt will do for now.

    Rainbow maxi dress

The project that started it all. Phineas and Ferb costumes for Halloween, made from felt. What I bought the sewing machine for.

    Necktie appliqué.

Bandana blanket for the little guy. He loves it bc he got to pick out the fabric and because Mommy made it.

Repurposed ill-fitting t-shirt w cute design to new, better fitting t-shirt. What I learned: the screen print is rubbery and the machine does not glide well over the letters. Need to help it along.
