Sixteen-year-old Prince Philip, 2nd from right, at the funeral of his sister, Princess Cecilie of Hesse and by Rhine, and her family who were all killed in a plane crash in 1937. Note the Nazi salutes in the crowd. Cecilie, like all of Philip's sisters, was married to a German prince who supported Hitler. For that reason Philip's 3 surviving sisters were not invited to his 1947 wedding to the daughter of the British king.
