Vladmir Kush is an artist I have admired for a long time. I remember seeing his paintings in high school and I would always find myself staring at them for a long time. Kush is a surrealist who produced many oil paintings. These painting became more popular later when he was able to sell them through prints. He always referred to his style as "metaphorical realism"

Kush himself refers to it as "metaphorical realism" and cites the early influence on his style of Salvador Dalí's surrealist paintings as well as landscapes by the German romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich.
