Eugene Thurman "Gene" Upshaw, Jr (1945 - 2008) Hall of Fame Professional Football Player, Executive. He was a National Football League offensive guard for 16 years with the Oakland Raiders, where he played in three Super Bowls in three different decades, 1967, 1976 and 1980. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987, and in 1999 "The Sporting News" ranked him #62 on their list of the 100 Greatest Football Players

The Dallas Texans were founded in 1960 by Lamar Hunt. Following the 1962 American Football League season they moved to Kansas City, Missouri and became the Kansas City Chiefs.
