Hey ladies! Welcome to another Fitness Friday! Legs are a big thing for me because my upper thighs and butt are where I store all my weight. This means I need to work hard to keep them in shape. Even now I'm still not totally happy with what I have to go on holiday with, but we're all a work in progress. I've toned up the fronts, backs and outside of my thighs immeasurably since cracking on in January with Pilates: my inner thighs however are the cruncher. I can't help where I store my weight, and at the end of the day there is only so much I can do without losing anymore weight. I don't want to lose any weight at all so I figure I'll just keep on with some of my favourite inner thigh exercises. I'm not one of those girls who if I don't have an inner thigh gap I'll cry, I settle for toned and cheerful! Oh, and run of course ;) Fire Hydrants are a particular favourite of mine because you can do them kneeling or standing up for a great inner thigh and saddlebag workout. You can also switch it up by using variations such as making circles with your knee in the air for 40 reps, or by making it ultra hard and extending your entire leg and then making circles. They pretty much all kill me so I'm happy. Ouchie, I love me a good hundred reps of Inner Thigh Single Leg Lifts. You can do these in a number of ways, so long as your resting leg is over your active leg and you're really having to use your core and inner thigh to pull up. I generally get myself into a convoluted position with my resting leg crossed over my active leg with my foot on the floor and the knee up so I can hold onto my ankle. When lifting your leg mix it up by both flexing and pointing your foot and by doing pulses of both. Single Leg Lifts are simple but very effective! Add in some variations such as bringing your foot forward, up and then back and up to make a triangle shape. Also, try holding your leg in the air and doing little circles for 50 reps, and then do it backward. Sideways scissors work as well forward and back scissors in being an all round leg toning exercise. I find it also allows you to give your legs a really good stretch when you see how fast you can bring them down to the floor. To make it much harder try bringing your leg to a 45 degree angle or lower to engage your core as well. There we are! Some of my favourite inner thigh exercises.
