Many diseases used to be spread by milk, becoming an epidemic. Milk-borne diphtheria, scarlet fever, typhoid fever, small pox, and menintitis outbreaks were common in the late 1800's to early 1900's. There were controlled through cataloging and reporting. This sign cautions milk truck drivers to refuse milk from farms where there are any cases of these diseases and to report such cases to the FDA. History shows that our milk is much safer!
