Vintage glazed pottery tea set with dense hand painted and enameled flower garden. The pottery is beige and the flower garden boasts green, white and pink colors. The lidded teapot stands 5" tall to the lid's knob and holds 16 fluid ounces. The lid has been chipped and clumsily repaired (see pictures). The creamer is 4" tall to the peak of the spout and holds 6 fluid ounces. The double handled lidded sugar bowl stands 4 3/8" tall to the knob on the lid. Considerable crazing is present. This little set is from the estate of a noted concert pianist (Mildred "Honey" Titcomb Rains) who graced the headlines and concert halls in Los Angeles, CA in the 1920's - 40's era. Honey was a true socialite, long before the names of Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian plastered the pages of TMZ. Though she passed on before I was ever able to meet her in person, I had the opportunity to get to know Honey when we acquired some items from her estate in 2012. I now have the pleasure of sharing her story on our blog. You can read it here.
