I chose this picture because I feel like religion plays a fairly large role in the novel. There is a lot of things based off prior events in history. Consuelo early on looks to the church as an answer is quickly enlightened.
Imagination Growing up in difficult times and living in a difficult situation helped Eva develope a great imagination. This is what kept her sane, and to look at life with a positive outlook. It is a key part to Eva because it keeps her going so that no matter what comes her way she can overcome it.
Squidbob over there represents the two headed baby that Eva's madrina gave birth too. It was a situation that turned into a catastrophe spreading to the public. For days it was the only thing anybody was talking about. It caused he madrina to go into a downward spiral and made matters difficult. Elvira did not approve and assured Eva that in order for that to happen she were to sleep with two different men on the same day.
This is when Eva decides she is beautiful simply because she wants to be. This right here is a big part in the book in my opinion because it represents a range of things. The one that jumps out to me the most is how much she has matured. The sort of self respect she demonstartes really shows how far along Eva has come since the novel began.
