Rauceby Hospital (Kesteven County Asylum) The hospital was designed by GT Hine, construction began in 1897 and was completed in 1902. Operated by the Kesteven County Council the facility was renamed to Kesteven Mental Hospital in 1924 and to Rauceby Mental Hospital in 1933.

The remains of the Civil War era furnaces at Long Pond Ironworks in Hewitt, #NewJersey. Founded in 1766 and operated continually until 1882, the site made iron for a number of purposes, including the Continental Army, the American forces in the War of 1812, and the Union Army during the Civil War. Today, the ruins of three furnaces and other unique structures remain as part of land donated to NJ in 1957 and opened as a State Park opened in the 1987. Discover more history…
Abandoned Treasure Island Bowling Alley-San Francisco,California (This man-made island was created in 1936 and was home to the U.S. military from the 1940s until its abandonment. In addition to the bowling alley that is pictured, Treasure Island is also home to an abandoned cinema, swimming pool and lots of army barracks. The view of Alcatraz Island in the distance gives Treasure Island a particularly eerie feel )
