This dish actually makes a complete meal and one that takes very little cooking, especially if you have planned ahead and soaked the peas a day before. You can use a filling of your choice for the patties like peas, french beans, paneer, corn etc. I also like to eat just the ragda topped with the onion and chutneys with pav instead of the patties.
The ever-popular desi dish that has won the test of time and geographies. Retaining its fame through generations and gaining a prominent place in the menu of Indian restaurants the world over, Chole features cooked white chick peas and potato pepped up with tangy tomato cubes and an assortment of spice powders and lemon juice. It is a versatile accompaniment that goes well with puri, bhatura, rotis, and even rice.
Ladi Pav (AKA 'Pav' AND 'Pao') - Soft Indian Bread Rolls
There is nothing like fresh, homemade bread to complete a meal and an Indian meal is no exception... These feather soft, eggless Indian bread rolls are a favorite throughout India and complete a number of Indian dishes including: Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Misal Pav, Disco Egg Fry, and Dabeli. As good as they are as part of these (and more) Indian dishes, Ladi Pav are perfect as a substitute for Western dinner rolls and when a little larger are excellent as hamburger buns and sandwich rolls!
Dabeli is Gujarat’s answer to vada pav. It is a sandwich-like snack in which bread is perked up with a sweet and spicy potato filling. Dabeli Bhajiya is an interesting variant of this favourite street food, wherein the potato packed bread is deep-fried to make crisp bhajiyas, and served with peppy chutneys. The dabeli stuffing is flavoured with a special dabeli masala, which gives it a unique taste, and we have also added some masala peanuts to add a bit of crunch to the filling.
