Mother Nature started working at sunset. A thunderstorm with gusts of up to 75 mph picked up sand and dust as it swept over Onslow and toward the Indian Ocean. The dust storm, called a haboob by meteorologists, raged for an hour. After that, the water was calm.

Oil--Trish Madison--I believe it was taken in Kuwait. When SadamHussain realized he couldn't have Kuwait he set fires to over 600 Kuwaiti oil wells. It took over 7 months to put out the fires and was one of the largest environmental tragedies according to TIME #nature #disasters #motherearth #globalwarming #naturaldisasters
This is the Kuwait oil fields burned by the retreating Iraqi forces near the end of the 1991 Persian Gulf War.This is often labelled as "multiple tornadoes" but is in fact a photo of the burning oil wells. One of the worst environmental disasters ever.
Kuwait or Iraqi oil fields burning after Desert Storm. CORRECT: this is often labelled as "multiple tornadoes" but is in fact a photo of the burning oil wells
Burning daylight—thought these were tornadoes, I think those are the burning oil wells in Kuwait during the Gulf War. Iraq set fire to more than 600 of them as they retreated from Kuwait during the Gulf War in 1991

Tornados.......WOW!!!!!!! No NOT TORNADOS! The youngsters among us, those born after the early '80's, will not remember this. This is a picture of the Kuwaiti oil field, and some of the 700 or so burning oil wells in it, after it had been set a blaze in1990 by the retreating Iraqi troops during the first Gulf War, Desert Storm. It took months, at great personal risk, for teams of crack oil well firefighters to extinguish all of the fires.

"I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." Waterspout - a really intense columnar vortex that takes place over a mass of water and links it to a cumuliform cloud.
A waterspout is an intense columnar vortex (usually appearing as a funnel-shaped cloud) that occurs over a body of water and is connected to a cumuliform cloud. In the common form, it is a non-supercell tornado over water. While it is often weaker than most of its land counterparts, stronger versions spawned by mesocyclones do occur. Waterspouts do not suck up water, the water seen in the main funnel cloud is actually water droplets formed by condensation.
Waterspouts are tornadoes over water usually formed by new rain clouds. In most cases, waterspouts are created while the cloud they are attached to is still developing. They are common in tropical areas where thundershowers occur frequently, such as around the Florida Keys where they’ve logged 400-500 waterspouts per year. Waterspouts are always located below a cloud and above a body of water. They are actually made of water droplets formed by condensation.
