To get rid of the nasty black gunk in your drain: 1. Boil a pot of water. 2. Meanwhile pour baking soda down the drain. 3. Once the water has reached a rolling boil pour it down the drain. 4. Let the water and baking soda work at decomposing and sterilizing the grime for 10 minutes. 5. After 10 minutes, pour 1 cup of bleach down the drain to completely kill any remaining mildew or bacteria. this process every few months. It will also keep the nasty mildew smell at bay.
Just tried this and the drain works like a dream! Pour a pot of boiling water down the drain. Add 1/2 c. baking soda and let sit for few mins. Pour mixture of 1 c. white vinegar and 1 c. very hot water down the drain and plug it, so that the reaction happens below the surface (if possible). Let stand 10 mins. Pour another pot of boiling water down the drain....it'll go much better this time!

One of those gross things you really NEED to know as a parent- How to Clean Up Vomit...1. clean up excess off the affected area. 2. make a paste of BAKING SODA and Water; 3. Take a spatula or spoon and generously spread it onto the affected area. It is almost like frosting a cake, except way less appetizing; 3. Let it dry overnight or until it becomes a powdery consistency again; 4. Vacuum it up!; 5. Repeat if necessary. I wish Id learned this a long, long time ago!
Awesome Cleaning Slime 1 tablespoons of white (Elmers) glue. Add about 1 spoon full of water. Mix. Then in another cup put 2 tablespoons of borax and 2 tablespoons of water. Pour the glue solution and the borax solution together and you get slime. Add some food color to the glue first if you want a cool color. Use mold of your choice...shallow plastic container, etc. Can be re-used many times. When it gets filled with the gunk you have been cleaning, throw it out and make some more!!
