I Can Do All Things #3

The apostle Paul made this bold statement not from mere intellectual knowledge, but through deep conviction as a result of the many things he suffered and endured. Paul was acquainted with hunger, cold, imprisonment, betrayal, abandonment, poisonous snake bites, stoning and more. How could Paul stand and have peace when he was suffering and in need, when he was in persecution? “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” he writes. His sufficiency was found in Christ.

Born Again

The phrase, “born again” was just as ambiguous in the time of Jesus as it is today. When Nicodemus visited Jesus to receive further knowledge and instruction, Jesus told him he must be “born again”. Nicodemus responded the way many would today replying “How can someone be born when they are old?” The kingdom of God will never makes sense to you until you surrender your life and will to the saving power of Jesus. You must be born again!

Rejoice #1

The apostle Paul reminds us that there is always cause and matter for rejoicing in Christ, even in times of affliction, distress, and persecution. Paul wrote this bold statement while imprisoned. Paul recommended what he himself enjoyed. If he, in the midst of disappointment, imprisonment, and suffering, would rejoice and did rejoice, so may all of us.

Change We Can Believe In

This is an illustration of Jesus wearing a crown of thorns just before he was to bring REAL CHANGE by taking all our sins onto himself and paying our penalty so we wouldn’t be condemned, but instead, have eternal life with Him. When you put your faith in Jesus and the sacrifice he paid for you on the cross REAL CHANGE takes place. You become a new creation! All the old things pass away. All things become new. Now that’s change we can believe in!
