Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates says the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, a Clinton era military regulation governing the conduct of gay persons in uniform, was the only time he say President Obama animated or passionate about the military. Gates also said Obama was stoic at Medal Honor of ceremonies, while he observed President Bush’s “eyes well up.”
