I like that this is older furniture, yet it looks stylish with the color punches and how it's put together!

Love this mirror with sconces. This would look awesome over top of our fireplace... even this painted brick is enticing. What is your opinion on painting brick... do or don't?

I like the basket next idea for next to the rocking chair. Maybe it could be where the cat and dog toys could live. A cover would make it a great hidden storage and it would be in easier reach for us to play with them. If it was strong enough we could sit on it and it would double as a place to put on your shoes when going out the door.

Such Great Heights An elaborate mantel isn?t the only way to draw attention to a fireplace. A dramatic surround can also be eye-catching. Here, the brick from the fireplace extends from the floor to the ceiling; for added drama, it?s painted in a color that contrasts the walls. Adding height to the fireplace can also help a room feel larger by visually extending the walls upward

Love this mantle decor - ours is so boring right now! Maybe need to switch out the picture for a nice big mirror. Especially love the contrast of this round mirror.

looks like a hobbit house fireplace.. and it would be really easy to do too..
