fabric flowers - cute but may not save a ton of money or time in the end

I assume you start with a big spiral of fabric, then wind. Stitch or pin to close the center.

I never thought about doing this with the center of the flowers I have made....would love to try....beautiful!

burlap flowers--Great idea for boutonnieres and corsages for groomsmen, ushers, and the family members. probably cheaper, and could be made far in advance! Also, it could be kept as a keepsake more easliy.

I resized these flowers in Microsoft publisher and used them as a pattern for my felt flowers. I had a vase on one side and stems at different lengths stitched on the other. I put buttons in colored button in place over the vase and on the top of the stems. Button hole in the center of each flower. Color matching page.

I've made chiffon flowers using this technique, and they look really great. BUT you have to be VERY careful when holding the edges to the flame.

love these fabric flowers and twine around the jar!
