"I am not what I ought to be. I am not what I want to be. I am not what I hope to be. But still, I am not what I used to be. And by the grace of God, I am what I am." - John Newton. (via guidemeinyourtruth.tumblr)
Psalm Today I heard a wonderful story about the strength of a women after being singled out and humiliated. Her response was incredibly graceful, kind and inspiring. She was not embarrassed by her stretch marks that she got while carrying her first baby.
Once you have truly felt the pain of your past and accepted the feeling that makes you think you can't hold on anymore you can then feel that tiny shred of strength to pick yourself and move on. Don't revisit it, don't use it as an excuse. Just move on.
