Homemade Vanilla Extract: Start with vanilla beans.They should be plump with natural oils. Slice the bean lengthwise. Spread apart to reveal the seeds. These give the extract its flavor. Use 3 or 4 beans to 750 ml vodka. Put beans in a large mason jar, fill with vodka. Store at room temperature for 2-3 weeks
