DIY Pop Rocks, DailyMeal (would be fun to make for a party along with other homemade childhood favorites; sugar, baking soda, citric acid, corn syrup, extract of your choice, food coloring of your choice [you could use natural dyes to glam it up])
sugar cookie icing 1lb powdered sugar (about 3 3/4 C) 6T whole milk (low-fat actually works, but use whole if you can) 6T light Corn Syrup (6T is equal to 1/4 C plus another 2 T) 1 t extract (I use almond because I use almond in my sugar cookies) With a whisk, combine sugar and milk until smooth (no lumps!) Then stir in corn syrup and extract.
This recipe is called cookies in a cloud. It is the one my friends always request me to make. Layer a 9x13 pan with chocolate chip cookies. Mix an 8 oz package of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 egg and layer on top of cookies. Add another cookie layer on top of the cream cheese layer. Bake in the oven at 350 until the cookies are done.
Loaded Baked Potato Salad - Mix ½ cup softened butter, ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup shredded extra sharp cheddar, ¼ cup chopped chives, 8 strips thick cooked crumbled bacon. Fold mixture with 4 large cubed cooked potatoes. Salt and pepper to perfection and serve warm! Reserve some bacon or cheese for the topping.
