Yellow-strongest. When a recipe calls for onion, this is probably the one. White-milder. Used in mexican food recipes and cooking. Purple-mildest. Used primarily as raw, such as salads, on burgers, etc. For no tears while cutting, cut from the stem/tunic end, not the root. Other helpful hints for no tears include refrigerating the onions and running under cold water. Personally, it always works for me 100% of the time to cut from the stem.

Natural Cleaning 101: Get Your Microwave Clean With Just a Lemon The Kitchn | Apartment Therapy
How To Clean Your Microwave Naturally With Just a Lemon Cleaning Lessons from The Kitchn | The Kitchn...this works!
How To Clean Your Microwave Naturally With Just a Lemon: Just squeeze some lemon juice into water, drop the rinds into the water, and microwave. As the liquid boils, it condenses on the sides of the microwave, loosening gunk and dissolving food splatters. The lemon juice is a natural cleaning agent, and so all you have to do is use a clean towel to wipe everything clean.
We get a two-fer deal with this one: not only is it possible to get a squeaky-clean microwave without using harsh chemicals in a spot where we also heat our food, but this is also hands down the easiest way to clean a microwave. 1/2cup water in a microwave safe bowl, cut in half and squeeze whole lemon into bowl, toss rind in there too, microwave 3 min, let stand without opening door for 5min, wipe clean! Use lemon water to get stubborn spots!

HOW TO: Wash Grapes The Right Way
Ideas, Fun Recipe, It Work, Eating Rights, Clean Grape, Baking Sodas, Wash Grape, Salts, I Did It
HOW TO: Wash Grapes The Right Way uses salt and baking soda. Tried it today and it worked great!
Washing grapes. Then sprinkle about 1-2 teaspoons of salt on the grapes. Sprinkle another 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda on there. The wax is actually produced by the grape itself to help prevent moisture loss. But there is a layer of dirt and dust, as well as pesticide residue. So, the wax itself is not harmful, but the pesticide residue surely is! Only wash what you will eat right away, as the extra moisture from washing will speed up their decay.
HOW TO: Wash Grapes The Right Way - I had no idea!! 1-2 tbsp salt 1 tbsp of baking soda shake for 30 seconds to a minute and then rise well with cold water.
