Cute idea for my shady area; fence section with hanging pots...

Would this fence idea work for an herb garden?? In case you have a dull wooden fence at your backyard you can easily spice up it. You can make a colorful vertical garden of it. Tools and materials – Terra-cotta pots – Painter’s tape – Spray paint – Flowerpot hangers – Wood screws – Cordless drill – Wood screws

Great and inexpensive idea! Dollarama also sells them already decorated or with raised patterns u can embellish as desired--for a buck! My kind of deal :-)

I did this with strawberry plants last year (nevermind that they didn't survive). The pots are the cheap part but the TerraLatch hooks needed to anchor them to the fence/wall are PRICEY. I got mine for half price on eBay and still paid almost $3 each for them.

Instead of a small space you have to mow, try making a flowerbed to add visual interest to your front lawn:

What a fun garden! This would be a perfect setting for all those loud, slightly tacky lawn ornaments to hang out with each other and totally look like they belonged.
