The Olinguito is a new carnivore discovered in 2013, which is a rare occurrence these days.  This animal, Bassaricyon neblina, is a member of the raccoon family (Procyonidae), and lives in parts of Columbia and Ecuador.  It turns out there were a few in U.S. zoos back in the 60s and 70s, but they were mistaken for olingos and never recognized as a different species.
