Here's a set of posters for helping students think about the meaning of subtraction.

This is so cute! I love this!! This is helpful because it will help the students remember what to do. It can also be done for addition, multiplication, and division. The bad thing about this is it can take a lot of time. However, if you do it once, you can keep it for further years.

Who Wouldn't Love Subtraction Bowling! This activity can get your students out of their seats and teach them to have fun with mathematics. (Precious Holmes)
