Duurstede Castle is one of the oldest medieval castle ruins Netherlands. It is a fairytale location surrounded by a moat and only accessible by a drawbridge. You can enjoy a stroll through the beautiful castle park and see the castle with its beautiful towers. In the small but beautiful park around the castle are many, more than 150 year old trees.
Castle Duurstede-The castle originated in the 13th century. Around 1270, Zweder I van Zuylen van Abcoude built a freestanding keep on a raised and moated site near the lost city Dorestad. Until the beginning of the 15th century Duurstede Castle was in possession by the Van Zuylen van Abcoude family, until they were forced to sell it to the bishops of Utrecht in 1449.
Chapel of St. Barbara (Le Faouët, Brittany) I don't know if it's abandoned, but it's old and beautiful.
