The extraordinary #1 New York Times bestseller that is now a major motion picture, Markus Zusak's unforgettable story is about the ability of books to feed the soul. It is 1939. Nazi Germany. The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become busier still. Liesel Meminger is a foster girl living outside of Munich, who scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. #ReviewBook #TheBookThief #MarkusZusak

I have mixed feelings on this book. I don't think I particularly liked the main character or her choices but I still think that there was great social commentary. And I think that Kate Chopin's writing is exemplary. I loved all of her short stories that we read in class as well as The Awakening.

Completely unique and original book. Narrated by Death it tells the story of a young girl growing up in Nazi Germany.

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand - One of the most riveting books I've ever read. Incredible story of survival during WWII.

Written by the author of the Kite Runner, this fictional story tells the story of how women were, and are, oppressed in Afghanistan. Recent stories confirm that this is still the norm.
