(Sequel to Witch Child): Agnes, a Mohawk Indian who is descended from a line of shamanic healers, uses her own newly-discovered powers to uncover the story of her ancestor, a seventeenth-century New England English healer who fled charges of witchcraft to make her life with the local Indians.
Sorceress. " It came to Agnes unbidden -- a vision of Mary Newbury, alone in the snow, dying of the cold. A visitionof a young woman who had lived in the 1600s, an unusual young woman who had been driven from her Puritan settlement, accused of being a witch."

Pirates by Celia Rees. Nancy is the heiress of her father's sugar plantation in Jamaica, but unfortunately that comes with strings attached. Nancy and her friend and former servant, Minerva, take their lives into their own hands and become Caribbean pirates. Important to class: discusses the ideas of women's agency in early 1700s colonial Americas. Important to me: a female adventure story where women take charge of their own destinies.

This is Not Forgiveness by Celia Rees - one of our list of novels for young adults exploring contemporary teenage life http://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/teenagers/booklists/171/
This is a great read, for older teenagers. Brooding, dark, full of menace, it is not an easy read, but gritty and realistic.
This is Not Forgiveness Celia Rees - Everyone says that Caro is bad... but Jamie can't help himself. He thinks of her night and day and can't believe that she wants to be his girlfriend. Gorgeous, impulsive and unconventional, she is totally different to all the other girls he knows. His sister, Martha, hates her. Jamie doesn't know why, but there's no way he's going to take any notice of her warnings to stay away from Caro.
This Is Not Forgiveness by Celia Rees - Everyone says that Caro is bad ...but Jamie can't stop thinking about her. But there are times when Caro disappears, the scars on her wrists, her talk about revolutions and rumours about the other men in her life. And then there is Rob, Jamie's older brother, back from Afghanistan and traumatised after losing his leg. The summer should have been perfect ...but that isn't how things work out in real life.

young adult historical fiction. interesting stuff about the french revolution but the writing is kind of choppy.
"In 1794 England, the beautiful Sovay dons a man's cloak and holds up stagecoaches in broad daylight. Posing as a highway robber began as a lark to test a suitor's devotion. But when she lifts the wallet of one of England's most dangerous men, Sovay begins to unravel a web of deceit and duplicity..."
It’s England, 1783. When the rich and beautiful Sovay isn’t sitting for portraits, she’s donning a man’s cloak and robbing travelers—in broad daylight. But in a time when political allegiances between France and England are strained, a rogue bandit is not the only thing travelers fear. Spies abound, and rumors of sedition can quickly lead to disappearances. So when Sovay lifts the wallet of one of England’s most powerful and dangerous men, it’s not just her own identity she must hide, but that o

So true, I enjoy reading children's books such as The Chronicles of Narnia, The Giver series, City of Ember, Ella Enchanted....
CS Lewis ~ Children's books. Really, I'd say this is true of all books. If it's only enjoyed by one audience, it's not a great book.

Loved this book.the mix of history & current times mix fed my want to know her past & curiosity for what was going to happen next
My name is Elizabeth Anne Hawksmith, and my age is three hundred and eighty-four years. Each new settlement asks for a new journal, and so this Book of Shadows begins… In the spring of 1628, the Witchfinder of Wessex finds himself a true Witch. As Bess Hawksmith watches her mother swing from the Hanging Tree she knows that only one man can save her from the same fate at the hands of the panicked mob: the Warlock Gideon Masters, and his Book of Shadows.
I'll admit... I judge books by their covers :)
I have way too many books to read
