Montserrat Caballe, soprano, 'Sposa son desprezzata"' from 'Bajazet' (pasticcio), Vivaldi (aria written by Geminiano Giacomelli, for his opera 'La Merope' 1734) Ms. Caballe, besides unbelievable tone, uses a full dynamic range and control especially in the trills (the last is phenomenal). Her emotionally delivery, as a 'spurned wife,' captures the depression without being depressing.
