Newspaper mulching. Lay down the newspaper, wet, add top mulch, then plant what you want, without weeds.

When planting new plants put a layer of wet newspapers down and then cover with mulch to prevent weeds from growing. Make sure the newspapers overlap and the layer of mulch is thick enough (at least ~3 inches). Also, water regularly!

Newspaper weeds away! Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet the newspapers and put them in layers around the plants overlapping as you go. Cover the newspapers with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet season yet?)

Did this in the decorative bed covering my septic tank!! So far so good!! Use newspaper beneath mulch to keep the weeds out in your garden.

start a garden in garden soil bags. It really turns out beautiful in the end. You don't see the bags after the mulch goes on top. Very easy and few weeds.

HOW TO USE NEWSPAPER TO BLOCK WEEDS. 1)Spread layer of newspapers in flower bed. Make the layer three-four sheets thick, & slightly overlap them. Place some soil on the corners to hold paper down. 2) Wet the newspaper that you have spread in flower bed. You can do this with a hose, watering can or a bucket. This will help keep newspapers in place. 3) Mulch flower bed. This will hold newspapers in place & will help kill and control weeds.
