6. Dresser Inspiration-Do you have an older furniture piece in your home that needs revamping or a secondhand treasure waiting to be updated? Look at this sweet dresser from Oh Joy! With a little bit of sanding, priming, painting and elbow grease...voila!, a beautiful addition to a nursery or playroom.
I love recycled furniture. So sick of the plastic crap that warps, is made of cheap materials, slave labour probably and doesn't last. Wish the stores would get savy. I'd rather own one piece of great furniture than a gillion pieces of rubbish over a lifetime. Nuff said!
Choose your gradient colors from a paint chip card, buy samples of each color, and paint those drawers!
Classy Update:: Transform a dresser with paint and wallpaper. Chic taupe paint and toile wallpaper highlight this dresser's traditional lines. Play with the position of the wallpaper until you're happy with the design, and then cut the paper to fit the drawer fronts. After painting the dresser, apply the wallpaper; protect it and the painted surfaces with an acrylic sealer
Original Bookshelf Use Co-opt small spots of empty wall for attractive storage. -- Find (or build) a bookcase that fits the wall space. -- Fill with matching baskets or containers. We used canvas bins and dropped in numbered labels (a coordinating "key" tucks into the first basket).
