    In the summer Ida's cottage was surrounded by a menagerie of plants. Foxglove, delphiniums, poppies & peonies poured over the garden fence, reaching out to passersby saying, "Pick me, smell me! I will make your day more beautiful!" Ida liked to kneel in the dirt, digging deep into the ground to feel the roots and bulbs of the plants and feel the pulse and magic of the earth...

    Miss Ida Honeycrumble rose every morning with the intention of having a good day. She lived quite alone and contentedly enough in a small house on Cotton Lane. No matter if the day was rainy, or full of sunshine, Ida Honeycrumble always saw it for the best, for as a gardener she knew that her plants needed both.
