fiction, nonfiction anchor chart- helps the kids see the differences; I would add that fiction is something that could happen and non-fiction is something that has actually happened if it's a story. My students think "not real" means "could never happen"
I love anchor charts! I think they are super helpful and they make certain concepts easier for children to understand, especially if they are visual learners. It is important for students to make personal connections while they're reading. Also by making connections, writing can be tied into reading.
Fiction NonFiction Have this sign at the center and have kids sort books according to their attributes. (Cover spine labels at first and then reveal them to help connect fiction/nonfiction with Dewey!)
