  • Jett- Jett

Tufted Titmouse, (Baeolophus bicolor) - They forage actively on branches, sometimes on the ground, mainly eating insects, especially caterpillars, but also seeds, nuts and berries. Their song is usually described as a whistled, "peter-peter-peter". They tend to be curious about their human neighbors and can sometimes be spotted on window ledges peering into the windows to watch what's going on inside.

tufted titmouse. I love these little sweeties. They come every day to my deck feeders. There are three types in particular that really trust me: tufted titmice, the carolina wrens, and the dear little black capped chickadees. All three seem to totally know it's mealtime when I come outside. They allow me to get so, so close. It wouldn't be hard to hand feed them.♥

Tufted titmouse. Leaves a lot of her "tuft" in her nest every year.

Lots of titmice in the woods, fields of Meadow Knoll. Last year, one built a nest near my kitchen window and raised 3 babies.
