LOVE THIS IDEA!!! Original pinner says: "Each year our kids must choose ten old toys to put in their Santa bags. These must be toys in decent shape that other kids would actually want. We leave the bags under our tree on Christmas Eve. Santa takes the old toys back to the North Pole to fix them up he leaves new toys in the bag. Great way to declutter, recycle old toys, and teach the kids about giving

Glue bath toy openings to prevent mold from getting inside and you from having to clean them. (I can't believe I never thought of this!)

Salt Dough Santa Handprint Ornaments: 1/2 cup salt, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 water (give or take), knead until dough forms. Make impression and cut out hand shape with a knife leaving a border. Poke a hole in the top for hanging. Bake at 200F for 3 hours. Paint, seal and ready to hang :)

Toys that are not picked up go in the ransom box and they have to pick a chore to complete to earn it back! A great lesson in personal responsibility.

turn your children's toys into ornaments- great idea for when your kids are older. Look back and see what they played with.

Wrap 24 christmas books you already own. Kids get to pick which one is read that day. Stack under tree, Half the fun of presents is unwrapping them. What a simple tradition!

Cute New Years Tradition~ Santa always forgets one present he left at the North Pole, so on New Year's eve he drops it by unnoticed. (have a neighbor ding dong ditch it with a note from Santa.) Its fun if its a "family gift" such as a movie or game to enjoy on New Years Eve. Fun way to prolong the holiday just a bit longer!

Obviously this doesn't include Santa gifts.. just gifts from Mom and Dad. Cute idea for teaching kids not to be over indulgent.
