Abu Simbel Temples, Egypt. The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples in Abu Simbel, Nubia. The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BCE as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari to commemorate his alleged victory at the Battle of Kadesh and to intimidate his Nubian neighbors.

The ABU SIMBEL TEMPLE in NUBIA,EGYPT is two temples built during the reign of King Ramses II, 1200 B.C. At the entrance of The Great Sun Temple are four seated colossal statues carved into the mountain of Ramses II.
