When my mother left, she took the cat. She knew that nobody else would take care of Midnight in her absence, and wanted to make sure she was safe. I have always been jealous of the fluffy black cat that earned more of my mother's love than I ever could. She traveled around the world and I often saw pictures of her in magazines, lounging on a beach somewhere with Midnight by her side. Cats. You can't help but be jealous of their beauty.
