Adore millwork that goes three-quarters of the way up a wall. Beautiful turquoise and off white palette, love the fretwork around the tv, and the smart herringbone stone work in the fireplace. This layout is easiest -- could be enough seating if the couch is long and there are 2 ottomans/poufs under TV. Or 2 chairs on each side? Or a loveseat on one or both sides? Plus, I like the built-ins to give our wall some balance.
I love the idea of placing a plant in front of the fireplace!! I have a gas fireplace that we no longer use and originally wanted to add a candelabra. Being that it's too expensive to remove the entire gas log burner, a plant would hide it perfectly!!
Open Shelving with Tiffany Blue walls...very classy Shelf Solutions - use 1/2" pine boards with 1 1/2" pieces of flat stock pine attached to the front of each shelf giving the illusion of hefty (and pricey) shelving. Open shelves help make this galley kitchen seem larger and are a great way to store kitchen essentials. -- this would look cute in my dining room!
