40 Banned Books to Read at Your Own Risk - What I want to know is how in the world a Where's Waldo book got on the banned book list?!
40 Banned Books to Read at Your Own Risk -is this true? This is my close to my exact reading lists from junior high and high school!!!
40 Banned Books to Read at Your Own Risk - Dare to empower your mind. Some of my favorite books are on this list!
40 banned books to read. I saw a poster of banned books at the high school I took my SATs at, and I won't lie, I was a bit disgusted anyone would ever ban a book. Many I've read and were wonderful. The reasons they were banned didn't even seem legitiment either.
40 Banned Books to Read at Your Own Risk Don't know if they really r but think I should add those I've missed to my reading list

If you thought you would hate a "dystopian future" tale (like I did), you will love this book! Then again, I would read anything by Margaret Atwood...
My new favorite book! Margaret Atwood's "Oryx and Crake". Wonderful read, an update/improvement on 1984 or Brave New World! highly recommend...

On my to read list.
Author Gregory McQuire's most acclaimed book. I loved it but recognize that McQuire's formula for retelling the classic fairy tales does not make great literature. If one did not know the old stories or, particularly' never seen the movie "The Wizard of Oz," his books would be incomprehensible. I give him credit for finding a device that works very well for him. BTW, I've seen the play 3 times - same critique: one wouldn't know WTH was going on if one had never seen WofO but who hasn't!

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (The Wicked Years, #1) by Gregory Maguire. This imaginative novel puts a new spin on the classic Wizard of Oz story.
One of my favorite books, after reading this the Wicked Witch of the West becomes your favorite OZ character :)
Wicked (Gregory Maguire) a very good book and series, but a little hard to get through. All of Maguire's books are beautifully imagined pieces that really transport you to amazing places
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire (The Wizard of Oz from the perspective of the Wicked Witch)
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (The Wicked Years, #1) Gregory Maguire is not only an amazing writer, he is an amazing man. This whole series is filled with unexpected plot turns and twists. No happily ever afters here.
Goodreads | Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (The Wicked Years, #1) by Gregory Maguire - Interesting take on the "Wizard of Oz" written from the Wicked Witch of the West's perspective.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern was such a beautiful read about a circus that comes to town randomly and is open only from dusk to dawn. Also, Celia and Marco are swept up in a challenge where they are unsure of all the rules. . . Written with the most beautiful imagery, I literally want to start wearing only black and white with a red accent piece.

The Night Circus book cover | I'm really enjoying this book. I wish my lady friends would read it with me so we could have a book club-type themed get-together to talk about it and decorate and eat circus food. ♥ @Kelly Teske Goldsworthy L., @Elizabeth Lockhart Wyatt, @Emily Schoenfeld Bishop I'm looking at you...
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. One of my 2011 favorite books telling the story of a young boy and girl who find themselves in a magic contest. As the years go by they struggle to find out who their opponent is, what the rules are, and how to win. All they do know for sure is a circus unlike anything you have seen before is the arena.
A video book review of The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. One of the top picks from In the Stacks librarians for your book club to read.
This is definitely one of my favorite books. *nods* In this mesmerizing debut, a competition between two magicians becomes a star-crossed love story. The circus arrives at night, without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there… read more at Kobo.
Most original books I've read in along time. Very popular with my bookclub.

The Red Tent by Anita Diamant-really wonderful book about Dinah. She is hardly mentioned in the Bible but this historical fiction brings her to life.
The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant (Book Club Kit). Based on the Book of Genesis, Dinah, Jacob's only daughter, shares her perspectives on the origins of many of our modern religious practices and sexual politics, imparting the lessons she has learned from her father's wives.
The Red Tent One of my all time favorite books. History, fiction and religion all blend together in a book that I simply could not put down. Educational value: High Entertainment value: High Emotional value: High
The Red Tent....one of my favorite books, helps explain why we are bound together as women.
Few stories can evoke a time and place as vividly as Anita Diamant's compelling tale sprung from the pages of the Old Testament. The Red Tent is the story of Jacob's daughter, Dinah, and Jacob's four wives, who all served as Dinah's mother at some point in time. Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah all bring their own unique gifts and influences to bear on Dinah's life. As Diamant explores the trials and triumphs of ancient women, she brings a foreign yet beautiful world to life as seen through t...

11/22/63 by Stephen King. Oh yeah - on my "to-read" list. Time Travel - always! Maybe wait for the paperback so it will be easier to read on the bus?
Stephen King writes great time travel fiction (inspired by "Time and Again") Awesome book...not your "normal" Stephen King book....
11/22/63 - our book clubs next book - nervous about reading a Stephen King book - but i have heard great things about this one!
"After reading the book jacket, the prologue, the entire text and the afterwards, I am going to recommend this book to everyone. THIS IS NOT A STEPHEN KING HORROR THRILLER. Though it might be considered Sci-Fi, it really is all in all, a great piece of fiction by one of the greatest writers of his generation", quote by Adam Knight , this IS going to be next!
11/22/63 is the first Stephen King book I've read. It's a great one, and you cannot miss it. It is a wonderful sic-fi/thriller that I recommend highly.
11/22/63 - Stephen King's book about time travel - asks and answers "what if you could stop Kennedy's assassination?"
11/22/63 Stephen King's take on time travel and the JFK assassination. Really compelling. I'm not much of a King fan (nothing against him either - just not my cup of tea) but I REALLY enjoyed this and had a hard time putting it down.
Stephen King's latest is big, dense, and oh-so wonderful! Epic time travel story written in King's brilliant style.

Ender's Game was first published when I was in high school. It was one of the first science fiction books I ever read and that series is still one of my favorites. Orson Scott Card is a master storyteller. Science fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, non-fiction, religious fiction... you name it, he's done it and done it well.
Enders Game- My all time favorite book. Read it 5 times so far and the whole series. Do yourself a favor
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - as reviewed by Grace of Books Without Any Pictures - winner of the Hugo and Nebula Award for Science Fiction.
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I came to this book later than most. Awesome awesome book! Card builds a believable world out in space where humans are locked in an intergalactic cold war with an insectiod alien race. We visit this world through the eyes of a young military cadet. Great for young and old alike.

Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh (one of my favorite books - ever) http://www.amazon.com/dp/0679406832/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_FuBVsb02DYQWM2K0
Gift from the sea: Anne Morrow Lindbergh, wife of Charles Lindbergh, writes about solitude, faith, simplicity, and relationships. She bases her reflections on the shells she finds on the beach. Very beautiful book. It's for every woman with a busy life.
Gift from the sea, Anne Morrow Lindbergh. A pinner said "Such a good read about the stages of a womans life. SOOOO GOOD! -Brenda". It is almost a spiritual book, from a woman to women. Very precious.
"Gift from the Sea" by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. This book was authored by Charles Lindbergh's wife. It was a thoughtful read that lingered with me long after the final page.
In the 1955 classic, Anne Morrow Lindbergh reflects on the ups and downs of her life as a wife and mother. I stumbled upon the book many years ago, back when I had four small children underfoot and felt perpetually exhausted. Lindbergh reminded me that I was not the first mom to feel overwhelmed, and she inspired me to make changes. Upon finishing the book, I altered my priorities, resolving to write more, clean less, and enjoy more alone time with my husband.

My all time favorite book!
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the American Civil War, Margaret Mitchell's epic love story is an unforgettable tale of love and loss, of a nation mortally divided and its people forever changed. At the heart of all this chaos is the story of beautiful, ruthless Scarlett 'O' Hara and the dashing soldier of fortune, Rhett Butler.
Gone with the Wind (Gone with the Wind #1) by Margaret Mitchell
