Fill a clear ornament with a handful of sand from the honeymoon! Would make a beautiful ornament for your first christmas being married! Or! If you get married on the beach find cheap glass ornaments and fill them with sand from the wedding spot. And give people a wedding favor they will actually use!!

Love this idea but unfortunately won't work for international vacas as you can't bring sand through US customs. Collect sand and shells from the beach during a holiday vacation then fill an empty, clear ornament ball

We do this every year, and special occasions! We have an ornament with my old horses hair tied off. First hair cuts of our two children (Thanks Becky for the idea, and Aunt Mary Kate for cutting!!), various trips yield various contents! Enjoy! Collect sand and shells from the beach during a holiday vacation then fill an empty, clear ornament ball

Take sand off of the beach from the honeymoon ... Or any trip and put it in an ornament. I used this idea for both our honeymoon and our wedding-(I used ribbons from decorations and pieces of fabric from my dress) The ornaments were easy to find at any craft store, I bought a 6-pack of glass ornaments for a couple bucks, but plastic would work well too if you are doing the project with kids. I used a paint pen on the glass ornament instead of a tag...I recommend using a strong glue to seal the metal top to the bulb because it will get very heavy- also hang on a strong tree branch! Wrap a short piece of ribbon around the metal top and glue it to hide where you had to seal it

Do you ever gather sand and shells when you are out on vacation or just walking the beach? I found a great idea to help preserve those memories and to enjoy them year after year. This is so simple.
