    For a maternity shoot, I'd try doing a nature shoot instead of this. Instead of columns, I'd light the trees this way. The woman would be alone and standing right at the centre, illuminated, to create a goddess of natrure kind-of effect. (Strobist: Ryan Brenizer's Panoramic Portraiture)

We got a massive storm in NYC in the middle of an engagement shoot. I knew it was coming, so I said to the couple: "We can either stay nice and dry and shoot in Grand Central … or we can play in the rain and try for something extraordinary."

And she'll laugh as he smiles, wondering... Just how damn lucky he got to be able to hear that laugh for the rest of his life.
