hex quilt - this may be the only quilt I've ever actually liked.... considering learning how to quilt (lightly considering... but nonetheless)

Looks like the beginning of a dimensional quilt...add centers and maybe some wedges for an entirely new block!

Love the big hexes and contrast binding.

Terrific usage of yellows and grays for this modern looking quilt. Easy pattern of straight lie sewing. Easy machine quilting of swirling cross over lines that run length of color strips. Look fool proof foe the beginner! DLW

love this, better than doing the hexs one at a time! What a time saver and a awesome idea!

hex stripes. This is a crazy awesome quilt!!! Check out how those patterns match up on those hexes!!

from hexie to pentagon. Image from Flickr - I would like to learn to make these using '30s reproduction fabric.

A little research reveals - Audaciously Embedded (in spite of my better judgement) by Alison Davies..... Made of recycled fabric including shirts and boxer shorts. Machine pieced, hand quilted. Amazing!!

The funky prints and patterns on these fabrics are sewn together in such cool shapes. What a fun way to display some rad textiles!
