Okay, now that it's over, here's my take on this YA Dystopian series as a whole. I thought it was worth reading. It was interesting. Did not love what the author did with the "Christian" character or the (YOUNG) teenage sex. My preference would have been for my 8th grade son to have waited and read this in high school, but not horrified he read it now.

First book in a three part trilogy, followed by the Dead and the Gone and The World We Live in. Well worth reading.

The Gone series by Michael Grant is sort of like Stephen King for teens.
