The Checkerboard Herb Garden/Even if it rains you can get to your herbs. I can do this with wall stones from the woods, and put it next to the stone patio.

Mason jars - consider hanging the jars as shown in the picture but instead of plants, make the solar power lights that are a DIY Project. Could hang them all around the yard on a privacy fence.

Imagine having a herb wall like this in your back yard. Vertical food gardens are a great use of space.

Mason Jar Herb Garden (hint - put small stones in bottom to allow the dirt to drain and you can monitor how much water is in there.. also for water use either, a long spout watering can, a spritz bottle or just shove a few ice cubes in there, they will water as they melt... no mess) put in a sunny spot so that herbs will thrive!
