The fabric will be dyed at the yarn stage in order to ensure better quality and uniformity in color. We will use dyes so our color binds chemically with the fabric and we do not have issues with the fabric stiffening, crocking, fading, or properly binding (as we would with pigments). Although this might make our product slightly more expensive, it will be a better product for the end consumer.
tutorial: how to make all natural fabric dyes - (using raspberries tumeric & tea) I've heard that vinegar will help set the color ( hence the stains from ketchup and barbecue sauce) and that using aluminum pans to cook them in may help.
vegetable dyes for fabric Could perhaps try this next time i want to dye something, i have used the packaged powder dyes but this is worth a try at least once, more so for baby items since its more natural. Not sure I could wast the Blueberries for dying - but good idea!
